Classic surfboards have the traditional egg, or 50/50 rail design and a slight roll to the bottom. They have a very smooth ride, with emphasis on the nose. Intermediate to pro ability. All classics come with 6/6 deck and 6 bottom.



It was around 1965 and ideas were flying around for a new design. There was a theory that a scooped out “step” deck allowed for the nose to flex straight for noseriding and reduce the swing weight when turning. Well it rode so well it was almost like cheating! Thus the Cheater Model was born.    The 1966 World Surfing Championships saw Steve Bigler take 4th place on a Harbour Cheater and since this model has been one of Harbour’s classic designs that has interestingly (with lots of back story) come in and out of production over the decades. After lots of requests and pleads we have once again brought back the Cheater model in honor of our 60th anniversary!

Introducing the Cheater 60! We poured over the details and dimensions of a ‘magic’ vintage cheater we have had in our possession and recreated it. Making a few updates, namely the placement of step deck. We felt the long step (scoop) posed an issue when paddling the board. The edge of the scoop cut right into your chest when paddling. So we shortened the step up a bit, pushed out the outline width to make a more balanced all around better paddling and riding board while maintaining the integrity of the original step deck design functionality. Thus we have refined all the magic in the new Cheater 60! 

Parallel cedar stringers, signature goal tail block and a snazzy gloss polish finish with a a matte finish accentuating the step deck. Comes with a specially designed Cheater 60 Volan Glass fin. Offered clear or resin tints only.


This is a replica of a 1966 Banana Model. It is a surfboard for the surfer wishing to experience the feel of one of the masterpieces of the sixties. Glide and drive are superb, while the flat rocker that we had then may give the less competent some issues. This board will make you learn to turn using proper techniques, so it is really a great teaching tool. While today’s nose designs are easier for tip time, this board will certainly do it and you will learn to do it correctly.


Tim Stamps was given the challenge to design us the ultimate super cruiser! Modeled after the 1960’s traditional longboards with a tail that measures 16 1/2″, a thickness of 3 3/8, 23″ wide and of course a 19″ nose. The Nineteen is a wide stable cruisin’ nose rider. Complete with 50/50 rails, a blended flow through concave nose, a long low rocker with moderate tail kick this model has a smooth entry line for maximum glide style. An optional T-band stringer and/or volan glass gives this model extra soul.  Tim has delivered!


The Nose Rider is superb at what its name implies. With one of the more exaggerated concaves ever built, this board will simplify getting tip time like never before. But that is just the beginning because it catches waves quite well, and it turns quite easily. This is your “take to the beach on an average day board” because surfing is supposed to be fun.


Designed in the 80’s using all of the knowledge gained through the longboard years of the 60’s, this board has the glide that was so important, and a turn that rivals the best design from that era. This is a great board for someone who wants the best of everything from those golden years.






The original Trestle Special was developed in 1964 to surf Trestles; one of the premier breaks on the California coast.  After Clark Foam closed in late 2005, I was left with 8 Trestle Special blanks.  I decided to put the remaining 8 Trestle Special blanks on Ebay for $3,000 each, numbered 1 of 8, 2 of 8, etc. with the understanding that these were the last Trestle Special surfboards that Harbour will ever make.  They all sold and the Trestle Special logo is forever retired.

Since people have been calling the Trestle Special the TS since the mid sixties, and I still had a demand for that classic design, I decided to do something about it.  This classic shape is now available with a new name.  I designed a logo with the same feel as the retired Trestle Special logo, but now it says, and very appropriately, “The TS.”

The TS is the (exact) classic Trestle Special shape, with three stringers, volan glass, and high density foam tail block.  The only difference between this and the original 1965 Trestle Special is the TS Shape logo, the foam and the glassing schedule.  We now use super green foam and our current volan glass job. With the extra weight gained from the 3 cedar stringers and volan glass the TS Shape is ideal for reef or point breaks.  All TS Shapes are available (only) with clear volan glass, 3 cedar stringers 6″ apart, and a foam tail block.
